Gifts for parents and friends from Germany to Japan

I sometimes send gifts from Germany to Japan by German post.
Last time I sent it was before Christmas in December.
I wanted to visit my parents in Japan but there are still quarantine restrictions due to Covid-19 when you fly to Japan from Germany.
Therefore I haven’t visited Japan for more than a year and a half.
There is my father’s birthday, mother’s birthday, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day in May and June.
That’s why I decided to send small gifts to them from Germany to Japan.
I have bought German products for my family and friends as a souvenir and gift as below.

•Lindt chocolate
•Nivea cream
•Book for children
•Haribo gumi
•Ajona toothpaste
•Milka chocolate
•Red wine (made in Italy, Spain, France or Germany)

This time, I’m going to send gifts to my parents and friends as below.

For my mother

1.Notebook
My mother told me before that she forgets things often these days so I thought the notebook could be a diary or memo book.
The design of the notebook I bought is unique and I felt it looks somehow European style.
I bought the notebook at a book shop in Berlin and it costs 17 euro.

2.Scarf
It’s a normal female scarf.
My mother said it’s big but I think she can use it in spring and autumn.

3.Gardening gloves
I was not planning to buy the gardening gloves for my mother but their design is showy and cute.
I found it at a bookstore. It costs around 7 euro.

For my father

1.Polo shirt
First, it was difficult to decide what to buy for my father.
Beers and whiskey as a gift came up in my mind but alcohol bottles are heavy and they could be broken.
I wanted to buy something useful so I planned to buy socks.
But I randomly found a Polo shirt at the shopping center Mall of Berlin.
The brand is Hugo Boss.
It costs around 70 euro.
My boyfriend said that Hugo boss is famous for business suits and it’s good quality.

For my father and my mother

1.Pretzel snacks
I like pretzel snacks.
My mother’s and father’s gifts are around 700g so I just wanted to make the package around 1kg which costs 11.35 with tracking by German post.

2.Letter
My boyfriend wrote a letter in German and I translated it into Japanese for my parents.
My Japanese parents can’t read German and they are not good at English.
I can’t even read my boyfriend’s handwritten German well.
My parents are happy to read the letter.

For my friends
I sent some products for a female friend, her husband, their child and their babies as below.

•Baby clothes
•Baby love baby goods
•Bio baby snack
•Weleda cream for men
•Scherbens face mask
•Lavera face tonic spray

I wanted to prepare funny baby clothes made in Germany for babies but I couldn’t find something funny in a shopping mall in Berlin, Germany.
Anyway, I bought cute gifts and my friend told me that she is happy to have them.
It’s fun for me to look for German souvenirs and gifts in Germany for my family and friends living in Japan.
The best German souvenir for me is something unique European design or typical German goods (beer, Haribo, sausages etc.) which is hard to find in Japan.
I constantly keep checking for nice products in Germany and send or bring them to Japan.
