A Wedding ceremony at city hall in Berlin, Germany

A Wedding ceremony at city hall was not like a “Party” but official formal ceremony for me.
My family members could not attend from Japan so it was okay to make a small ceremony and party for me.

After city hall wedding, we had lunch at restaurant “JABE Dine & Bar – authentic japanese flavour” which is Japanese style restaurant.

We visited and had dinner at several restaurant before we decided to book “JABE”.
“JABE” was not totally Japanese style, more Asian but food, atmosphere and location were good with the price.

Actually, to book restaurant, to make invitation card, to book a photographer and to prepare gift for guests are options.
It is totally up to you.
Some people get married without guests.

Popular city halls or weekend might be difficult to book.
You might have to wait for few months.

For me and my husbund, we picked “Villa Kogge” in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.

We could book in January for March.
It was easy.

Maximum guests include bride and groom should be 15 people there.

A lady from city hall was in charge to host and talk stories.
I understood 70 percent what she said, though.

What we did at the wedding at city hall

1.Enter the room
2.Listen to the lady
3.Write a signature down
4.Change rings
5.Exit the room

The construction was going on around the city hall, so it was not so nice than I imagened.
but I was moved after all anyway, so all good.

Before the wedding (checking ID etc.)

I guess that to book in spring and sommer is not so easy because it is warm in Berlin.
Sommer is season for party in Berlin.

I felt lazy to collect all documents in Japan.
If you have all documents to get married in Germany, then everything is fine.

In Japan, to filling the marridge document out and submit it at city hall.
You do not need to book for it.
For foreigners must need more special documents as I did in Germany.

Anyway, I am happy that everything went well.
