Due to Covid-19, German government has decided to move into lockdown in Germany from 13th March to 2020,
2nd November to 7th March 2021. *Lockdown in Germany is partially continued in April 2021.
In Germany, only supermarkets, pharmacies, convenience stores, hospital, Deutsche post,
banks and take away restaurants are open in lockdown situations. Apparently, book shops are also open.
I like going out but I like staying at home as well.
To follow German lockdown restrictions doesn’t bother me so much.
The most sad thing about being in Germany is that I can’t travel around and shouldn’t visit my parents in Japan at the moment.
Anyway, this is how I spend time in lockdown in Germany 2020.
1.Cooking at home
I am not so into cooking but it is good opportunity to improve, discover or experiment with food at home!
I made cheese cake, Nikuman which is kind of dumpling, Rouladen and more with my boyfriend for my first time.
2.Badminton in a park
There are 6 badminton’s rackets and 10 shuttlecocks at home.
It’s fun to play badminton because it is not super hard sport but chill out sport for me.
In spring, I was playing badminton three times a week in a park in Berlin, Germany.
The temperature is quite nice in spring in Berlin, Germany.
You can keep social distance when you play badminton.
The record of rally I have with my boyfriend is around 145!
3.Spikeball in a park
I didn’t know about the sport “spike ball” when I was in Japan and I’m fresh to play for fun.
To play spike ball is actually fun! Spike ball is for four people usually.
I played spike ball with my boyfriend and friends in a park during spring and summer in lockdown in Germany 2020.
There are some expert spikeball players and they actually do sport “spike ball ” properly.
I can’t see that they do the same sport as I do because they move more and the ball speed is much faster than me.
4.Netflix at home
I watched a lot of series on Netflix at home especially during lockdown in Germany.
Almost every day, I watch two to three episodes.
I like series on Netflix as below.
Unorthodox
Paper house
Better call Saul
Dead to me
The stranger
etc.
I heard that Amazon prime video or Disney channel has interesting contents as well as Netflix.
There are also series for children like PAW Patrol, Sponge bob etc.
I think I can stay at home for a long time with Netflix service.
5.Learning language at home
I think to learn languages is one of good idea when you have to stay home and have time.
I was learning German language some time with my boyfriend.
In my boyfriend case, he has two Japanese books about words and phrases from me and his parents so he was learning Japanese sometimes.
Here is how I learn German language at home by myself.
6.Nintendo switch at home
My boyfriend and I have Nintendo switch since November 2020.
We have Mario Kart, Mario party, Donkey king and Moving out.
When you are allowed to hang out with other households, then those games are nice to play but when you play alone, then I strongly recommend Mario Kart.
We are Nintendo online member for a year so you can play Mario Kart with your friends or random people in the world online at home.
It’s pretty cool that you can feel you are connected with someone all over the world even you are staying at home in Germany.
7.YouTube at home
Today, there are a lot of interesting videos on YouTube. I watch Japanese comedian show these days.
I have been loving Japanese Owarai geinin (comedian) Robert.
The team name is Robert and the member’s names are Ryuji Akiyama, Hiroyuki Baba, Hiroshi Yamamoto.
They make strange world and make me laugh.
I can feel Japanese sense of jokes from Germany.
And I like watching cats videos.
Cats are so adorable and heal you seriously.
If you have a real animal living with you, it would be great healing.
